Al Habtoor Group begins work on hotel project at Palm Jumeirah
The Al Habtoor Engineering Enterprises has commenced construction works on the hotel project at the Palm Jumeirah, announced Rahim Abu Omar, CEO of Habtoor Enterprises.
Beginning in early 2002, Al Habtoor Group chalked out the purchase plans for the plot at Palm Jumeirah, and the group became the first to own a major site in this world-renowned man-made island. The Al Habtoor Group owns the Crescent Plot No.34, an essential part of the island, covering approximately 47,541.36 square meters. The company chose the location for its best shoreline, favourable waters, which is ideal for water sport activities.
Featuring 217 rooms and suites, and 91 luxury apartments and 4 villas, the Resort would spread across the entire land, with few private gardens, swimming pools and other natural tropical plants, leaving one with a feel of having landed in tropical forest.
The food and beverage amenities include 10 themed restaurants and bars, including a floating seafood restaurant, rooftop fine dining restaurant, two ballrooms, conference and banquet amenities, multi-functional rooms and fitted board-rooms.
As for leisure amenities, the Resort would comprise an extensive range of Spa and Gymnasium amenities, covering 2000 square meters, 3 tennis courts, swimming pools, children’s playroom and games room.
Rahim Abu Omar, when speaking about the project, said ‘Habtoor Island Resort & Spa’ would soon grow to its splendour, and will be the 7th hotel property under the Habtoor Hotels Management, which is due to be unveiled to public by 2010.
“It is a pride to Al Habtoor Group to be the first owner of this most coveted location, which is another journey towards excellence,” he added.
